Native to Napo in Ecuador, growing epiphytically in forest. The type collection came from the Rio Negro area in the valley of the Rio Pastaza.
Native to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Parana in Brazil, where it grows as an epiphyte in forest from near sea level to about 1000 m.
