A terrestrial species from Dominica in the Lesser Antilles, growing on open summits at 1,260-1,400 m elevation. Its recorded range is restricted to that island.
Native to Valle and Cauca in Colombia and to Cocle in Panama, where it grows at 450 to 2000 m on banks, cliffs and in forest. It occurs terrestrially, saxicolously and as an epiphyte.
