A terrestrial species characterized by large, broadly heart-shaped leaves with prominent white venation against a dark olive-green to nearly black background. Leaves can reach 30-60 cm in length with a velvety texture. The petioles are distinctively quadrangular (four-sided) in cross-section, which distinguishes it from the similar A. crystallinum. New leaves emerge with a bronze to burgundy coloration.
A delicate terrestrial bromeliad characterized by narrow leaves with scalloped margins and soft spines. Originally described as Cryptanthus microglazioui in 1998 and transferred to Rokautskyia in 2017. The specific epithet refers to its resemblance to Cryptanthus glazioui but in smaller form. Develops a branching stem reaching approximately 15 cm. Endemic to the Atlantic Forest of Espírito Santo state, Brazil.
