A species found in Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia. It is characterized by pinnatifid leaf blades and petioles that have sheaths degrading into persistent, reddish-brown fibers (filaments), for which the species is named.
A compact terrestrial or lithophytic species distinguished by its oval to teardrop-shaped leaves that lack the typical basal sinus found in most Anthurium species. Leaves are dark green with silver venation, reaching 15-25 cm in length. The leaf surface has a velvety texture. Produces inconspicuous inflorescences.
