Ranges from Panama to northeastern Brazil, growing as an epiphyte in forest from sea level to 900 m. The type specimen was collected at Paramaribo in Suriname.
Native to Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, growing terrestrially or epiphytically in lowlands at elevations of 0 to 5 m.
