Native to Minas Gerais and the inland areas of Espirito Santo in Brazil, growing as an epiphyte in dense ombrophilous forest, semi-deciduous forest and campos rupestres at elevations of 500 to 1,700 m.
A species distributed in the state of Aragua in Venezuela, growing terrestrially and epiphytically in cloud forest at elevations of 400 to 1,600 m. The specific epithet honours Tobias Lasser for his many contributions to the botany of Venezuela.
Native to Oaxaca in Mexico, where it occurs at about 1800 m. The type specimen was collected at Copala by Alfred B. Lau, for whom the species is named.
